Requirements

Marriages in Cyprus are very simple, perfectly legal, and are recognised all over the world. You need have no concerns but in order to meet the legal requirements, there are some documents you need to produce and fees that you have to pay.

You may not be asked to produce all of these documents, but it is wise to have them ready, just in case.

Documents you will need:

Church Ceremonies

The requirements are the same as for civil ceremonies, but you should also bring a letter of introduction from your own minister at home, plus at least one Baptism Certificate, or in the case of a Catholic Ceremony, baptism certificates for both bride and groom.

Wedding Fees

Civil ceremonies are held at Pafos, Peyia and Yeroskipou town halls. They can also be held in certain hotels, on the beach, at the bird park, or on a yacht.

The cost of a Special licence (for marriage within 3/4 days of arrival in Cyprus) is €282

Extra licence copy €13.67

Ordinary licence (for marriage after 14 days of arrival in Cyprus) €128.15

Religious Ceremonies:

Catholic at St. George's Church, Agia Kyriaki and Hotel Chapels.
Anglican at any of several churches or hotel chapels.

Civil Ceremonies:

The Pafos Municipality covers weddings at the Ethnological Museum for no extra charge if the wedding takes place in the morning, but after 3 pm their fee is €382. The fee for weddings on board a yacht are €632.
